Puppy Purchase Overview
We ensure the health screening of both puppy parents. More information about this is at the OFA.org website via CHIC number. At a minimum, parents are tested for hearing, thyroid and hip health.
Once puppies are born, dewclaws are removed, puppies are microchipped, hearing is tested via BAER, they are examined by a veterinarian, they are individually registered with the AKC, they are vaccinated based on age and vaccination protocol, and they start being trained and socialized. If either parent has normal uric acid, puppies are also DNA tested to discover if they have normal or high uric acid.
Buyers receive health records for their puppy.
At approximately week 7 after puppies have completed procedures, testing, and evaluations, puppies are matched to buyers and arrangements are made for picking the puppy up sometime after week 9.
